Terms of Service for "Zone" (iOS and Android)

Effective date: 03.05.2026

Platforms: iOS (App Store) and Android (Google Play)

Service provider:
Jakub Rosiak, Igor Szafarowicz,
ul. Twarda 14/16, 00-824 Warsaw,
email: contact@zoneapp.io.

Scope: These Terms govern use of the Zone mobile app on iOS/Android (the "App") and the zone-based matching service (the "Service").

Platform license: on iOS, the Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA) applies. These Terms supplement the Apple EULA. On Android, the App is licensed by the Service Provider under the rules described in section 5.

1. Definitions

  • Account - a user account created in the App.
  • Zone - a physically defined area (for example a campus, venue, or event) where the App provides its matching feature.
  • Match - a pair of users selected by the system.
  • Temporary chat - a short-lived conversation channel activated only after both users take the "we can't locate each other" action after accepting a match.
  • User Content (UGC) - content added or generated by users, such as photos, profile descriptions, and messages in temporary chat.

2. Eligibility, age, and territory

  1. The App is intended only for users aged 18 and over.
  2. The Service may be territorially limited or subject to store terms.
  3. Required: a compatible iOS/Android device, internet access, and location services enabled (details in section 10).
  4. You may not use the App if doing so is prohibited by law, if you are listed in a sex offender registry, or if your account was previously removed for serious violations.

3. Participation in Zone events and image consent

  1. Events organized or co-organized by Zone may be photographed and recorded in order to document the event, prepare event coverage, and promote Zone.
  2. Participation in a Zone event means that the User consents, free of charge, to the recording of their image and to the dissemination of that image by the Service Provider in materials concerning Zone, in particular on the website, in social media, and in informational, promotional, marketing, and PR materials.
  3. The consent covers photos and recordings made during the event in which the User may appear individually or as part of a group of participants, as well as their repeated use without territorial limitation.
  4. If the User does not consent to the recording and dissemination of their image within the scope described in this section, they should not participate in a Zone event.
  5. The User may withdraw consent for future use of their image by contacting contact@zoneapp.io. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of any use of the image made before the withdrawal.

4. Account

  1. You can create an account using email or available system sign-in methods (for example Apple Sign In).
  2. You are responsible for the accuracy of your data, password security, and not sharing the Account with third parties.
  3. One person may have only one Account. Accounts impersonating other people will be blocked.

5. License and relationship with EULA / Play

  1. iOS: use of the App is subject to the Apple Standard EULA; if there is any conflict regarding the App license, the Apple EULA prevails.
  2. Android: the Service Provider grants a non-exclusive, revocable, non-transferable license to use the App according to its intended purpose.
  3. Any updates may be delivered through the relevant stores and may be subject to their terms.

6. Community rules and prohibitions

  1. Zero-tolerance policy: Zone does not tolerate prohibited, offensive, illegal, pornographic, harassing, threatening, hateful, discriminatory, impersonating, spam, or abusive behavior. Such content and conduct may result in immediate content removal, feature limits, blocking, suspension, or account deletion.
  2. Prohibited content includes, among other things:
    • pornographic content; offers of sexual services, pimping, or human trafficking;
    • harassment, threats, violence, discrimination, and hate speech;
    • impersonation, posting someone else's data without consent, deepfakes, and fraud;
    • illegal content and activity;
    • spam, advertising, and misleading links;
    • content involving minors or suggesting underage status.
  3. Profiles and photos must reflect your real appearance and age; fake accounts are prohibited.
  4. Offline meetings are voluntary. Safety guidance: before accepting a match, pay attention to the other person's behavior and let friends know about the upcoming interaction.
  5. Violations may result in content removal, feature restrictions, blocking, or account deletion.
  6. Child protection and CSAE prevention. The App applies a strict zero-tolerance policy toward content and conduct harmful to children. The following are strictly prohibited:
    • child sexual exploitation, including publishing, promoting, or distributing child sexual abuse material (CSAM), including realistic, AI-generated, or drawn material;
    • grooming and solicitation: any attempt to contact minors for sexual purposes, grooming, trust-building for exploitation, or sexualizing children;
    • sextortion: sexual blackmail or threats to share intimate material involving minors (or adults);
    • profile photos: posting photos depicting a minor is prohibited.

7. Moderation, filtering, reporting, and blocking (UGC)

  1. The App uses moderation and filtering mechanisms for User Content, including automated and manual tools to detect and limit offensive, illegal, pornographic, spammy, or otherwise violating content.
  2. You can report inappropriate content, profiles, photos, messages, or user behavior using the in-app reporting function or by emailing contact@zoneapp.io.
  3. You can block another user in the App. Once blocked, that user's content, profile, and messages are immediately hidden from you and removed from your view/feed.
  4. A block or report may automatically notify the Service Provider about potentially inappropriate content or behavior so moderation and safety actions can be taken.
  5. The Service Provider reviews reports about offensive content, abuse, and safety promptly, generally within 24 hours, and may remove content, limit features, suspend, block, or delete accounts that violate the Terms.
  6. You may not circumvent blocks, re-contact a user who blocked you, or create additional accounts after an account suspension or deletion.
  7. Messages in Temporary chat are retained for up to 24 hours after the session ends; safety metadata is retained for up to 30 days.
  8. You may appeal a moderation decision by emailing contact@zoneapp.io.

8. Payments, subscriptions, and billing (iOS and Android)

iOS (App Store):

  • Payments are handled exclusively through In-App Purchase.
  • Auto-renewing subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the period ends.
  • Manage and cancel: iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
  • Refunds for Apple ID purchases are handled by Apple according to App Store rules.

Android (Google Play):

  • Payments for digital content and in-app features are processed through Google Play Billing.
  • Manage and cancel: Play Store → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions (uninstalling the App does not cancel a subscription).
  • Refunds are handled by Google Play according to local rules and by the Service Provider where required by law.

Common terms:

  • Prices may change; for auto-renewing subscriptions the store operator may notify you of changes according to the relevant store rules.
  • Benefit descriptions, trial periods, and cancellation terms are shown before purchase and in the App.
  • EU consumer rights apply where required by law (for example the right to withdraw, unless statutory exceptions for digital content apply).

9. Privacy and data (summary)

  1. Full details are provided in the Zone Privacy Policy (linked in the App, App Store, and Google Play).
  2. On the server we store only Zone entry/exit events (timestamp, Zone ID, and account ID) for up to 30 days. Exact device location is used only for real-time verification and is not stored on the server (any temporary technical logs are kept for up to 24 hours).
  3. Permissions and consents (for example location and notifications) are optional, but some features will not work without them; each consent can be withdrawn in iOS/Android system settings.
  4. Push notifications are used to deliver information about matches and Zone activity.

10. Liability

  1. The Service Provider is not responsible for the behavior of other users or for incidents that occur during offline meetings; it does not provide transaction brokerage or escort services.
  2. The Service is provided "as is" to the extent permitted by law. The Service Provider does not guarantee uninterrupted operation or any specific outcome (for example, obtaining a match).
  3. The Service Provider's liability to consumers is not excluded where such exclusion would be unlawful under applicable law.

11. Intellectual property and UGC licenses

  1. The App and related materials are owned by the Service Provider or its licensors.
  2. You grant a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and process your UGC for the purpose of providing the Service and for moderation, safety, and enforcement of the Terms.
  3. You represent that you have the rights to post the content you submit and that it does not infringe the rights of third parties.

12. Suspension and termination

  1. You may delete your Account at any time in the App settings.
  2. The Service Provider may immediately block or terminate the agreement in case of a serious breach (including violations of section 7).
  3. After the Account is deleted, data is deleted or anonymized in accordance with the Privacy Policy and retention periods.

13. Complaints and contact

  1. Complaints about the operation of the Service and store purchases should be sent to contact@zoneapp.io.
  2. For App Store/Google Play purchases, the relevant store rules apply for refunds and billing; details and subscription management links are available in the App.
  3. We generally respond to complaints within 14 days.

14. Governing law, disputes, ODR

  1. Polish law governs these Terms, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence.
  2. Consumers may use ADR and the EU ODR platform.
  3. Jurisdictions outside the EU may have their own dispute-resolution rules; local information is available in the App/on the website.

15. Changes to the Terms

  1. The Service Provider may change the Terms for important reasons, such as legal, product, or security changes.
